Amalgams and its effect on the body

Regarding my home test for mercury. I want back to my GP, they sent me to a different doctor who knows nothing about me. 2 weeks ago when I rang to make an appointment the doctor that I have been seeing the most, they told me he no longer works at the surgery. When I was there on Friday, I saw him there seeing patients. That just confirmed to me that they have have no clue as to my symptons.

Well, I will see what this new doctor will be doing for me. She has booked a longer time to 'listen' to me and go through my file. I think she will have a shock herself to see that the very company she works for doesn't think that amalgams can do harm to the body.

She knew nothing about mercury and its effect on the body.

I am a bit confused by you post and whether you have already seen this new doctor or you are about too. GPs generally would not know much about mercury you would need to see perhaps a doctor who specialises in environmental medicine to get some effective help with this or a good dentist who does not use mercury.

I presume your mercury levels were high on the home test and that you have amalgum filllings. There are lots of post here about this issue and the mercury affects the thyroid. Have a read through some of them.

You might also want to post asking for a good dentist to remove the mercury fillings

Thank you for responding. and sorry about the confusion. When I wrote that post you responded to I had seen a doctor who had sent me for some blood tests. I received those test results and called to get an appointment to discuss other tests. I was hoping to see one of the other doctors I had seen before or at best the doctor who sent me for the test. but that didn't happen, I saw another doctor who have I have never seen before. So it was this new doctor in reference, who booked a longer appointment for me to see her. I was hopeful in getting an second appointment with her, but that bubble soon burst as she cited her credentials and the degree she obtained and told me point blank that the the amount of mercury in amalgams in our mouths is at a safe level!!

I was angry, tearful and made to feel again that I was imagining it again. ( I didn't show my anger though). The appointment concluded with her giving me a telephone number to talk to a psychologist. Telling me that I am stressed due to deaths of four family members in four years. The point about me being stressed about their deaths went straight out of the window. I was stressed about their deaths because they kept going back and forth to the doctor because they were unwell. They were misdiagnosed, not listened to which resulted in their deaths.

She even told me not to waste my money and see private doctors as they only take people's. She said much more but by then I had stopped hearing her..

So, now I am taking my own health into my own care. I need a doctor who knows eclogical medicine. I have seen Dr Myhill's website and a list of doctors who are practising in this field. From what I have read, it's best I do I test through a lab that can send the results to the GP, BUT the protocol is I need to get a referral letter from the GP. It pains me to do this, I will see.

I am going to a dentist for consultation on Friday to get the amalgams out. Would appreciate recommendations for a doctor that works with sensitivity to metals etc asap. We need the back-up to prove this naysayers wrong.

Thank you all for just being here.

Be careful which dentist you see. Thye need to be mercury free, aware of the dangers and work to keep you safe with oxygen and a dam usually to stop the mercury from getting down you trout as it is removed. Most dentists will remove mercury but not safely.

Hi Mandyjane.

I have Hashimotos, oral lichen planus, lichen sclerosis all autoimmune. 8 years ago a lab technician looking at my mouth biopsy suggested a lichenoid reaction to amalgam.

I didn’t know this until I requested my medical records.

Last week I had patch testing at Hillingdon hospital where I tested positive for allergy to Amalgam, Mercury and gold.

I’ve had the fillings for as long as I’ve had all the autoimmune diseases which is over 30 years.

I strongly suspect it this which has made me ill to the point of retiring early on medical grounds.

I go back to my consultant at the end of the month.

I am happy for you to share my story with your doctor to urge him/her to refer you for allergy testing

Good luck

Wow! Congrats Blondie on getting an allergy test done! And for it being positive.... would this not be the case for everyone? Who really can tolerate mercury???? As a result of this proven reaction.... might you be able to get your amalgams removed on the NHS?

Hi unlocky,

I have appointment with consultant on 28th so I shall put my case forward for NHS to replace.

As for everyone being allergic not necessarily, I am allergic to gold but not to nickel or cobalt which are more common. However, I would agree that all are being poisoned by mercury as it is a known and well documented poison. The mad hatter springs to mind as mercury was used in millernry (hat making not sure of my spelling) and it was sending them mad.

I shall update how I get on. Although I was warned that there is conflicting research and medical profession (nhs) do not necessarily accept that the allergy causes the lichen planus. I shall argue that the lab technician who did the biopsy suggested a lichenoid reaction to amalgam and recommended patch testing so they themselves are suggesting that is what is giving me such a bad mouth. Fingers crossed

Hi that's interesting. I have vaginal lichen sclorois and planus that my specialist attributes to my undiagnosed thyroid disease bless her. I have had my mercury out thankfully and my health is improving 2 years on.

Hi

It’s good to know your health is improving. Doctors unfortunately don’t look for the autoimmune disease triggers. I’ve had Hashimoto and Lichen Planus since my 20’s although doctors who don’t know me like to tell me it was menopause. I just roll my eyes.

I can tell you that they’re not keen on removal of my fillings and still can’t fully believe that they are causing me health problems.

I think they thought let’s send her off for patch tests that’ll dismiss that theory and she’ll go away. My dentist actually looked bewildered bless him. I said let’s wait for the letter to come through from allergy department and I’ll let you have a copy (roll of eyes) lol
