Does anyone know where I can buy L-Thyroxine Henning?

My Endo wants me to try going back on the run of the mill Levo, as he can not get this one here on the NHS. Hd problems with Levo before did not suit me at all, had lots of anxiety and thin hair etc. Since being on L-thyroxine for over a year now and it’s fantastic really thick hair now and not getting the panic attacks I had before. So I would like to buy these myself if possible.

"European Levothyroxine (not licensed in the UK)" but if you've had it on prescription before, what's the problem with your endo or GP prescribing it now?

Not had a prescription in Uk as was living in France where it’s readly available

Explain to your GP that you only do well on L-Thyroxine Henning and what happens with other brands, push your case for this brand to be prescribed. You can't buy it over the counter, you can't buy any levothyroxine in the UK over the counter, and I've never seen that brand being sold by any of the overseas suppliers who will supply Levo without prescription.

No, nor have I seen it without prescription.

However, at least until Brexit, you could use your NHS prescription with one of the German pharmacies (some mentioned here as suppliers of T3; thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm... )

You would have to pay for the medicine and postage.

(I have bought it myself. I like Henning l-Thyroxin. )

I have no problem paying for it if I can get a prescription from the doctor! Last time I asked was told they won’t give a prescription for private use

In principle, your ordinary green NHS FP10 prescription form is fine. The GP doesn't need to know what you do with it.

It does NOT have to specify a make - just "Levothyroxine" and dosage (e.g. 25 microgram or whatever).

I say this from personal experience of buying Henning L-Thyroxin from Germany.

The big issue is often quantity. These internet pharmacies quite understandably usually supply full packs only. Standard German packs are 100 tablets but others just might be available.
