I think I'm having too much thyroxine!

I have an underactive thyroid and have been treated with 125mg. About 3 months ago I asked the Gp if I could increase it as I felt like it was low. Over the last few years it's been on a downward spiral and she said that the last test showed it was on the lowest end of normal. She agreed to increase it to 125mg one day and 150mg the next. I agreed to do this, but some days I've taken 150mg more than days when I've taken 125mg, and now I feel like I'm coming over v sweaty and like I'm running around too much. Is this obvious that I've pushed it up too far?

Stick to 150/125. A small amount of T4 can tip you into slightly over active territory. This is a positive sign as it shows you are close to slightly over stimulation. We want to be just below this level.

So you are taking 137.5 T4 per day (dosing 125/150).

See how this goes and then pay some attention to fine tuning the vitamins and minerals associated with better thyroid health. I don't know if you do this, but this area can help to improve the overall action of T4.

Try get the blood results from the doctor so you are informed about what levels you feel not so good at and levels you feel good at.

"she said that the last test showed it was on the lowest end of normal" - what was she referring to? If you post all your latest thyroid results and their reference ranges, and any other results you have, it will be easier to have a more accurate understanding of what might be going on.

You cannot possibly know unless you have blood tests for TSH, free T4 and free T3. Ask for those and post results here but also ask for ferritin, serum iron, folate, B12 and Vit D. These are probably all low in range and can give various unpleasant symptoms resembling over medication.
