Naturethroid to Thyroid-S

I’ve recently switched from Naturethroid to Thyroid-s (a couple of weeks ago) and I’m worried I’m getting hypo symptoms like being really cold, headaches, super tired and fuzzy head - more than I usually have. Has anyone made the switch and did you have any issues? As far as I’m aware it’s still 1 grain of NDT??

"As far as I’m aware it’s still 1 grain of NDT?" - what is? If you mean do they have the same active ingredients ie 38 mcg T4 & 9 mcg T3, then yes they do.

I swapped from T4/T3 synthetic combo to Naturethroid, then to ThyroidS, and then back to T4/T3 synthetic combo with no problem or difference in effect, but that's only my experience. However there have been some issues with Naturethroid recently, which have affected some but not all those taking it, so it's maybe surprising that it's the ThyroidS you are having difficult with. Are you sure the symptoms aren't a roll on effect from the Naturethroid?

I’m not sure what the symptoms are linked to, may even be a cold/virus or something else but I’ve felt like this before on Levo and it’s interesting that it’s occurred within weeks of swapping meds. So hard to know what’s what with these things.

How long had you been on 1 grain of nature throid and why did you swap?

I switched from NT to Thai thiroyd as I was becoming hypo again due to NT clearly being less effective than it was.

What I'm getting at is that if you'd been on 1 grain of low potency NT and felt well then switched, you might feel hyper symptoms. Or it could be a coincidence in timing and the symptoms are of being hypo and you are just ready for a dose increase?

Symptoms of being over and under medicated can be similar.

That’s a very good point. I lived in the UAE and imported NT from New York but it was so expensive and then when I came to re-order I heard it had changed and people weren’t happy so I thought it was a good time to try a new one. I took it for 1 1/2 years at 1 grain. I’m back in UK now and had the choice of Thyroid-s, Thiroyd and TR from the Thailand supplier, so I picked Thyroid-s and now I’m wondering if I try one of the other two. It’s so hard not knowing what it is though. I’ve booked in for blood tests so I can see if my levels have changed.

I think checking your levels first is sensible. I hadn't realised I had a problem as I just felt a bit tired but when I checked, my t3 level had dropped so much it was almost as low as it had been when I was first diagnosed!
