Off topic but I wondered if anyone has any favourite gf products that make going gf that much easier?

For me, the breakfast bread (see link) is a saviour. To make it easier, I change the ground flaxseed to buckwheat flour, the coconut oil to olive oil and the raw ACV to normal white wine vinegar if I’m out of ACV. It’s lovely toasted with Bonne Maman blackcurrant jam. You do need a food processor and a loaf tin though.

For shop bought products, I recommend M&S gf brown seeded loaf, M&S gf mince pies and Tesco gf panetonne. Bisto gf gravy granules are good too and I’ve got used to Sainsbury’s gf digestives.

M&S brown seeded use to be my favourite.....until I discovered "B-Free brown seeded" (in local Waitrose). Gorgeous toasted.

Breakfast, I couldn't survive without my home made GF muesli. Packet of GF oats, tip in a large mixing bowl and add whatever seeds, chopped nuts and dried fruit you like best. My mix usually contains chopped walnuts, Brazil's, figs, raisins, dates, seeds- sunflower, chia, pumpkin, golden sesame. Store in a jar. This does at least 2 weeks of breakfasts. Very popular with non GF people too, so it may go faster! About 4 spoonfuls for a serving, with coconut milk, perhaps some kefir, few fresh blueberries and half a banana. Delicious.

Also Nairn have new sea salt and rosemary flatbreads which are gorgeous for lunchtime snacks

Brilliant re availability in Waitrose- will try it!

Yes, I too make gf muesli. I like it soaked overnight then add grated apple like Bircher. Yum!

Such good info, thanks Kipsy! I’m flying to England next week so will try and stock up on some of these yummy recommendations. I feel incredibly hungry reading about them.

Have a good flight- it’s from Saudi, if I remember rightly?

Quick update on mince pies...Waitrose are making two gf versions this year. I’ve tried both!! The pack that has only two large ones in is absolutely amazing. Not too much pastry, amazing mincemeat. Oh, and SlowDragon is absolutely right about the BFree bread- really really nice.

Ahhhhhh my trusted forum family! This is such a super useful thread as we all feel under pressure to act and be ‘normal’ during the festive season when dining with others is obligatory. The only info I can add to this cornucopia of gluten free goodies is M&S Christmas pud. I’ve eaten already ( a colleague brought one out to Saudi for me). Why did I feel unnecessarily guilty?
