At my wits end and need help

Hi everyone. I’m looking to hear from people who have maybe had the same experience as me but are further down the road and have some advice.

Over the last 5 or so years I haven’t been well. My get up and go has gone, I suffer with aches and pains and much much more. I saw a doctor at one hospital who after a number of tests including an MRI scan said I had Ankylosing Spondilitis as well as Fibromyalgia. This then followed a year of extremely nasty skin rashes where, after a skin biopsy I was diagnosed with lupus - this was at another neighbouring hospital.

It has been brought to my attention, by my husband that I move and twitch my legs A LOT when asleep at night. This has resulted in me not feeling rested in the day. I sleep late and have to have an early evening nap. It’s not sustainable, I work for myself so I can make it fit around my schedule but it just isn’t normal and I don’t like feeling so tired.

On top of the health issues I have mentioned, I am also low in Calcium - have been for a few years so take calcium and vitamin d tablets (prescribed), I also have to take folic acid tablets and have b12 injections every 2 months.

I take citralopam for anxiety, sulfasalize for my AS and Quinoric tablets for lupus.

With all this I still hurt and am still exhausted.

I have seen an endocrinologist 2 years ago and he couldn’t find a problem. A few people have said my issues all sound thyroid related but the doctor says no.

Does anyone have any advice, knowledge or similarities with my situation? I have just passed my mid 30’s and am at a crucial point in my life where I need to make a decision as to whether I’m going to have children. At the moment I don’t think I have the energy to look after anyone.

Looking forward to hearing anyone’s thoughts.

Have you got the test results from when your thyroid was tested? You really do need to get TSH, FREE T4, FREE T3, antibodies, folate ferritin, b12 and vitamin d tested. If necessary you can do private testing using finger prick via thyroid UK website.

thyroiduk.org/tuk/testing/p...

Blue horizon and medichecks have offers on at different times. £79-£99 for tests you need.

Good luck, if you do private ask for advice on how to do sample etc and post results on here.

Hi I also have twitchy legs and fibro. I'm on amitryptiline which helps with the restless legs and sleeping better. I had a thyroid blood test yesterday and am waiting for results!
