Hi everyone. I’m looking to hear from people who have maybe had the same experience as me but are further down the road and have some advice.
Over the last 5 or so years I haven’t been well. My get up and go has gone, I suffer with aches and pains and much much more. I saw a doctor at one hospital who after a number of tests including an MRI scan said I had Ankylosing Spondilitis as well as Fibromyalgia. This then followed a year of extremely nasty skin rashes where, after a skin biopsy I was diagnosed with lupus - this was at another neighbouring hospital.
It has been brought to my attention, by my husband that I move and twitch my legs A LOT when asleep at night. This has resulted in me not feeling rested in the day. I sleep late and have to have an early evening nap. It’s not sustainable, I work for myself so I can make it fit around my schedule but it just isn’t normal and I don’t like feeling so tired.
On top of the health issues I have mentioned, I am also low in Calcium - have been for a few years so take calcium and vitamin d tablets (prescribed), I also have to take folic acid tablets and have b12 injections every 2 months.
I take citralopam for anxiety, sulfasalize for my AS and Quinoric tablets for lupus.
With all this I still hurt and am still exhausted.
I have seen an endocrinologist 2 years ago and he couldn’t find a problem. A few people have said my issues all sound thyroid related but the doctor says no.
Does anyone have any advice, knowledge or similarities with my situation? I have just passed my mid 30’s and am at a crucial point in my life where I need to make a decision as to whether I’m going to have children. At the moment I don’t think I have the energy to look after anyone.
Looking forward to hearing anyone’s thoughts.
