Head injuries triggering hypothyroidism?

I've just read a post on here regarding head injuries. I've done a search but can only find a few more posts on the topic.

I suffered several head injuries in my childhood and teens. I also have bad gut problems ( already on gluten-free and dairy free.) I am secondary (central) hypo.

Could anyone please point out the posts on head injuries? I am seeing my endo very soon and would like to take this info to him.

Thank you all so much for the information. There are links provided that I hadn't come across on my own searches.

I am also wondering about illness triggering poor health. I had a nasty dose of flu in my late teens; prior to the flu my monthly cycle was very regular, but after the flu my cycle was a disaster. I was extremely irregular, awful PMT. I also began to suffer with anxiety and depression which worsened over the years. Add to that a bout of mystery illness a decade later that floored me for months, then a few years later I was physically over-exerted and mentally and emotionally exhausted. That last one tipped me into hypothyroidism.

Ive read that over-exertion can lead to a CFS/ME breakdown. However, I'm convinced that a lot of CFS may be undiagnosed hypothyroidism. ( My first local endo said I had CFS, and to go for a walk in the sunshine.)
