Hi. Had CT scan which partially imaged a retrosternal goitre. Had thyroid blood tests which show normal readings. Have breathing difficulties and swallowing not easy. Any ideas what to do now?

I’m in a similar situation, awaiting referral following scan. Scan shown large thyroid but nothing alarming. Other than the breathing and swallowing any other symptoms?

Not sure what relates to goitre. Difficult to get comfortable laying down . Have earache/jaw ache . Take care.

Have you had any advice? I’m seeing thyroid surgeon next week, dr suggested iodein radioactive treatment to shrink or surgery for removal. I’m sure hospital will just monitor me as bloods fine. I’m looking into resistance sensitivity to thyroid hormone.

Saw consultant yesterday, he said radioactive treatment would only shrink it by 20% . Decided surgery was best option. He is writing to GP . Saw him privately but can’t afford to have op privately so probably have a lot no wait.

Glad you gave a treatment plan, hopefully you won’t have long to wait. Surgery does seem the best option.
