Verrucas not going away on their own!

Hi everyone, new to forum, after some help having no luck with NHS. I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia and under-active thyroid around 17 years ago, on three montly B12 injections, folic, and 50mg of Levothyroxine. My problem is verrucas that do not go away on their own. I have over 10 verrucas, the largest on my big toe is the size of a five pence piece, and I only have size 3 feet, all on my left foot only. GP practices in my area no longer fund treatment under NHS, despite me being in pain and so embarrassed by them. I have tried over the counter treatments, plus silver nitrate, banana skin, duct tape, nail varnish plus freezing at a local university learning treatment centre .. all this did was create three more! So, my question is does anyone have any examples where they have gained treatment, as under-active thyroid is an auto-immune condition I don't understand why I am unable to gain treatment, my body doesn't seem to be able to react to the virus as it should be. Any guidance much appreciated.

There is an argument that the veruccas will go once your body has overcome the virus and therefore treatment is unnecessary. But last I knew there was an opposing argument for treatment too. Suppose it’s possible you can’t fight them off due to insufficient treatment for one or more of your existing conditions.

I just wonder if you’re optimally treated thyroid-wise. 50mcg Levothyroxine is a very small dose. Can you get test results and ranges and post here. Tests for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 are needed. Don’t take thyroxine on day of test, until after the blood sample has been taken.

Have you had antibodies tested and Hashimoto's confirmed?

Hypothyroidism isn't always auto-immune, myself and many more on here, don't have Hashi's.

Thanks for your reply, no never tested as far as I recall. Although having been diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia, which is an autoimmune condition perhaps they have been in the past.

Over the years I have had veruccas, one the size of a £2 coin that lasted years and then just disappeared in six weeks. The last 7 years I had smaller one (1cm) that I got rid of using an “electric mole remover” from Amazon - it was a last ditch attempt and after several months of persistent use it is finally gone.

My husband suffered for many years with verrucas on his feet and they had spread to his hands too ( from treating the ones on his feet). He tried most over the counter remedies and they just seemed to get worse and spread. I had read about taking Thuja ( a homeopathic remedy), so he added this into his treatment everyday. Things seemed to stay the same for several weeks, so he saw the GP and explained how bad things were. They put him on the waiting list for cryotherapy ( freezing), but before his appointment came through the veruccas had all gone.

So give Thuja a try.

Thank you, yes I self-referred for 'freezing' at a profession university clinic, all this did was resulted in spreading 3-4 more, which are now small but I don't wan't to leave them to get big like the others. Thanks for the tips.

Years ago I had a large verruka treated and it never spread. I have just successfully treated my partners two verruaka they are completely gone now. It sounds to me as though you have spread the verrukas the best way to treat them is with salicylic acid every two three days but you have to be so careful it's best to get someone else to help you.
