They also get TEVA and Morningside. I’m not aware of others, though there have been some comments here suggesting Thybon also, not sure.

Officially they only use Teva, Morningside Healthcare or Mercury Pharma.......all within pennies of each other in price ....i.e. Extortionate

You can download a list of current thyroid medications available in the UK from the main TUK website. Go to this page thyroiduk.org/tuk/treatment... and scroll down to the bit that says You can access this document here: Thyroid Hormone Replacements

Thanks for your input . The reason I ask is I have finally found a fabulous endocrinologist who is in my page 💪

By the way the appointments have gone he knows I cannot tolerate T4 in any form so he agreed on me trailing NHS T3. I did try mercury Phama but I didn't get along with it when the took over from Gold shield T3 .

So I can ask for a different brand to Mercury Pharma . 🙌X

Best to avoid Teva brand unless lactose intolerant

Morningside are blister packed and long shelf life

Presumably this is small dose in addition to Levothyroxine? Not just T3 on its own.

Are your vitamin levels optimal? Post results and ranges if you have any

You need vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin tested. Do you have Hashimoto's? Also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

If so, are you on strictly gluten free diet?

in reply to SlowDragon

My TSH is 0.02

T4 <0.3

T3 1.6

Diagnosis lazy thyroid . I take 9 tiromel didn't take before the test . I havent had the vitamin tests done but i do take all the B vitamins

I have terrible hairloss , peeling brittle nails and my weight loss is not happening .

Can you add the ranges on these results

So you need full iron panel including ferritin. Low ferritin often linked to hair loss

Zinc linked to hair loss too, so might test this

Vitamin D needs testing obviously

Plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies for Hashimoto's.

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Thank you😊

I take one zinc suppliment at night with magnesium suppliments.

The endorine doctor I'm under has suggested I am tested for pituatry defect as my TSH is always low I understand T3 meds do this anyway ,I've not had the appointment through the post as yet but I'm wondering if it's really necessary?

I know he hasn't checked my vitamin levels

Surprising how endo's often take no notice of low vitamins. Patients find them very important

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, take last dose 24 hours prior to test, and take next dose straight after test. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
