These are the latest results for my mum, she just started on thybon T3 5 weeks ago and on mercury pharma Levothyroxine for a year.
Thybon 5mg Total 2.5 x twice a day 10am, 4pm
Levothyroxine 50 mg 9 am. (was on 75/100) stopped for 6 weeks and started fresh on T4/T3
Looking at these results does she need more T3, less T4??
Her T3 results have improved since starting Thybon, her free T4 is bit higher, Her antiobodies have gone up.
She also takes better you vitiman d spray, although D is normal 75 in last test, she takes b12 under tongue sometimes, b12 test was normal in hospital, I gave her folate yesterday but it made her feel scattered.
Diet is good, no gluten, no sugar, no milk, no soy not much junk/processed food. Trying to be healthy.
I will speak to her dr but took me 8 months to convince him to try T3.
She is on betablocker bisoporol 1.25 at night.
Should I increase T3 to 10 and reduced T4 to 25? My mum is in her 70s so taking it slow on T3.

Did her Gp, or endo, insist on the 6 weeks without 'meds' (ie to get t4 out f her system) then start her on the 50 mcg levo. with 5 mcg T3, then test after only 5 weeks? Bit odd as your Mum has been taken back to pretreatment state, then dosed fairly highly for her age instead of building up dose again by 25 mcg of levo plus tiny bit of T3 for 6 weeks, then add further 25 mcg plus etc. Perhaps bloods might have been better, more settled, after 8 weeks. Adding T3 is very much experimentation I'm afraid, and everyone is different. Once you add T3 then TSH tends to go down , and FT4 normally falls ( your Mum's seems to have risen despite reducing the levo) , but the most important result is the FT3, which is likely to better for your Mum over 5 +. Just curious do the 10 am, 4 pm dose times suit her, as she has to wait 2 hours after eating, and at least an hour before even a drink other than water, to take her T4/T3? Is bisoporol for high Bp...just that some research suggests beta blockers can compromise thyroid health...if just Bp then would Gp offer an alternative? Does your mum feel ok; I'd add 2.5 mcg T3?
