Anyone have a way to grow back hair, or stop it from thinning?

I have found 3 bald spots, about the size of a nickel. It is not fun to find these, and I don't even know how many more there are. My hair is the thinnest it's ever been, and I'd like to fix that. That is why I am asking. Does anyone have any tips that have worked for them?

So disheartening, sorry. I've had horrible hair since a child. I use Hair Signals Therapy Solution or Folligen Cream by Skin Biology. Depends if you prefer a liquid or cream. I like Hair Signals Therapy Solution. If your scalp is dry, you might prefer the cream. Skin Biology products are honest & developed by a chemist. No hype. Great customer service for questions. I've used their skin products for years. Essential oils are really helpful for reducing hair loss, strengthening follicles, encouraging growth & reducing scalp inflammation. Rosemary, frankincense, black pepper, vetiver, clary sage, thyme & lavender are ones I use. I mix 3-4 drops of each in a small, dark (to keep light from degrading) glass bottle with fractionated coconut oil. Shake & massage into to scalp. Smells wonderful. Leave in for several hours. Use quality essential oils. The cheap ones are junk.

My functional medicine doctor recommended 300 mg of saw palmetto capsules daily. I use pH balanced shampoo with no chemicals at all. Since using all of the above, my hair loss greatly reduced. I used to find hair everywhere.

You might find out what your ferritin levels are. You don’t mention if you have Hashimoto’s or thyroid problem. But it’s very common to have low iron levels along with Hashimoto’s. Interesting thing that happened to my husband who does not have a thyroid problem but does have hemachromatosis. ( too much iron in the body). He is 62 years old and has always had a full head of hair, beautiful beautiful hair, when he was younger and now that he’s older it was still one of the most attractive things about him.

So in treating the hemachromatosis the doctor begin taking blood from him every two weeks until the ferritin count got below 50. It was very effective at treating the hemachromatosis. However he began having patchy bald spots on the top of his head and the hair was broken and kind of raggedy looking. I learned on this site that if the ferritin count was below 70 that you might begin to experience balding. I shared that with my husband and I’m not sure what he and his doctor are going to do because too much iron in the body causes a lot worse problems than some bald spots. Interesting again however - he has been using Turmeric which has been keeping the iron count stable and They haven’t been taking as much blood - and his hair is growing back just a little bit not like it was but definitely thicker and not broken.

It may or may not apply to you just throwing that out there - the ferritin count is very important to growing a thick, full head of hair!

Hi, thanks for responding! I should have mentioned I am Hypothyroid.

Your experience with the thinning hair of your husband sounds similiar to mine, in the way that it's in patches. I haven't had my iron checked, but it is something to consider. Happy to hear his hair's coming back!
