Difficult to know how to answer as we don't know where you live. Synthroid is common in the USA, assuming you are there, this link tells you all available levothyroxine medicines.

You will have to look at the products and read what is in them.

I live in Pennsylvania and have checked out those I know about; that's how I got on Levoxyl. But am experiencing some shaky episodes and I know it may be age related, but

it feels very much like my hyperthyroid times. Just thought it might pay to try a different

thyroid medication. Levothroid was off market and I'm not sure if it's available, but it's off and on so much it's not reliable. Thanks for your reply.

Levothroid was taken off the USA market permanently some time ago.

You could try Tirosint as it contains gelatin, glycerol and water - if you are OK with those ingredients it is likely the best option but it is expensive.

Tried it! You only get 28 pills and they cost 7 or 8 times more than Levoxyl. Can't justify that much more! I've probably tried them all, but keep hoping for something better. : )

I was on Tirosint but new Medicare formulary made it to expensive- $90/28 caps. I’m currently compounding t4 in an olive oil suspension w a cellulose carrier. I do it in a 6 month supply at 100mcg. The cost works out to be $20-25/mo. Liquid t4 has about a 6 month shelf life so sometimes I need to do it in so sometimes I don’t get 6 months but the pharmacist honors the 6 month pricing. I take 88mcg but doing it in 100mcg allows for easy adjust if needed. I had very bad reactions to mylan levo and synthroid.

Hello Fellow USA . You might want to try Sandoz, Mylan ,Lynette brands . You might also try to get the 50mcg as it does Not have dye in them . Some like myself too don't do well even with the dyes .
