Hiya, I have private insurance and wondered if it will cover me for endocrinologist appointments? It excludes pre existing conditions but if I have a new condition relating to my thyroid does this count? Thanks in advance!

Hi
They seem to vary, mine does cover pre existing conditions, which I hadn’t realised but it doesn’t cover chronic conditions, they did pay for a few appointments on the basis that I had had a flare!

In the end, the only people who can answer are your insurers.
My instinct would be to suggest that you are unlikely to be successful. However, the lack of formal acceptance that Hashimoto's (or hypothyroidism of any other cause) has various consequential issues could work in your favour.
For example, maybe you develop plantar fasciitis, or an eye problem. Could be hard to prove cause and effect when some experts deny the links.
