I know this has been discussed before, with varying opinions, but I'd like some current views on comparative strength of Tiromel (Turkey) and Unipharma ( Greece). A year ago I decided to swap to the former from the latter. I took half and half and for 5 days suffered increasing pains in my legs, insomnia and was, if not exactly running, skipping swiftly to the loo. I assumed that my adding in Tiromel was the problem and that it was stronger.
Through bad planning on my part, I need to take Tiromel for the next couple of weeks. I'd really appreciate your thoughts and experience on dosage. I'm currently on 100mcg and take T3 only.

I think that the 'potency' of any thyroid hormones are individual to each person's body.
We can all take different doses.
100mcg of T3 is rather a large amount. Do you have Thyroid Hormone Resistance? Do you take your dose once daily or split? 25mcg of liothyronine is equal to 100mcg of levothyroxine.
Yes, it is a lot. I take what makes me feel well. I don't take T4 as it made me feel ill when I took it. I felt drugged. I have been reluctant to try it again and perhaps undo the good of the last 2.5 years. I have not tried NDT. I take one dose. I have split the dose but for a long while now I take it as a single, early morning dose which suits me better.
I take your point regarding individual reactions Shaws, although as comparative strengths - anecdotal assessments of course - are discussed often enough here, it is a question worth asking. I was very surprised by the reaction I had previously and even wondered whether Greek Unipharma was very much weaker...
