Went to Endo’s asst. updated with results 8/27/18

Havent gotten my lab results back yet due to rT3 taking a bit longer but the Endo’s assistant was nice, saw her this Past wednesday. I had complained of being anxious and having much more agitation and anger as well as worse paranoia (I recognize this isnt a thyroid symptom?) and it turns out I was way over medicated on Armour Thyroid. The Endo, before she moved to a different city, prescribed me 120 mcg. I felt it was too much and with the help of others on here, cut it in half and felt I needed more and started to take 3/4 of a pill. Got my labs done this past tuesday and made sure not to take my medicine before. The assistant told me that my TSH is at .05 and her healthy level range is .5-2.5 She gave me a prescription for 75mcg. Does that sound right? Havent picked it up yet and took half of my 120 mcg yesterday and today I am sore in my body and out of breath (atleast I am not angry and anxious! Also paranoia has seemed to go down) I can only imagine what the change in dose has done to my body : (. Hoping to get lab results soon and it seems that dessicated thyroid is a whole new ball game.

After checking labs, it doesnt seem right? I am not sure why though. My t3 isnt even half way.. would this be a conversion problem?

Actually, paranoia is a hypo symptom.

On what grounds did she say you were over-medicated?

Thats comforting to know😄! I was told by my endo it wasnt and she suggested I see a psych haha. She said I was overmedicated because my TSH is at .05 she didnt tell me what the other numbers were and I have yet to get the results back. Yes, she is another one of those tsh looking endo docs😄 some other symptoms that i had were splitting aches in my head, not similar to headaches ive had in the past, body tired, sleeping problems, spacing more than usual, feeling cold more than usual and hot as well. Sweating (no deodaerant worked) and dandruff even worse than usual.

They could all be hypo symptoms. And, you do know that a low TSH on its own doesn't mean you are over-medicated, don't you? Be interesting to see the other results. :)

That is true, yes, I do beleive you amd I have had a similar conversation about TSH before :). I think it will too. However I do think the anger and agotation were red flags for me. I used to be hyper and those were symptoms I experienced previously. I will post results when I get them thank you!

When you say you 'used to be' hyper, do you mean you had a TT or RAI?

Yes, I had the RAI treatment but it didnt work, I was still hyper a couple years after.

Well, the rT3 is mid-range, so nothing to say about that. And TT3 is not a test that gives you any useful information. You need the FT3, I'm afraid.

Bummer. Thank you taking a look :)
