I doubt it did say serum c reactive protein 1 mg. mg is a measure of weight, not volume. Did you get a print-out of the results? If so, why not post them all here, with the ranges, and let's have a look. :)

1 mg/L (0.0-5.0)! Not quite the same thing. :) And it was less (<) than 1 mg/L, so it was low, which is good.

Did you not have any thyroid tests done? TSH, FT4, FT3, antibodies? Doesn't matter if they were in-range, they will tell us what's going on.

Doc said she would test thyroid but I dont see it on results, my results prior to that showed folate ferritin etc were within range, thsnks Greygoose

It's important to know where in the range. The ranges are vast, and low in the range is not good. Do you have those results?

You need to insist on getting those thyroid tests.

You are the right age for menopause issues. You need a moderate level of oestrogen for thyroid hormone to work properly in the body so if you have a doctor willing to prescribe it, I'd try it if I were you. That constantly hot and sweaty look and feel gets old very quickly! If your thyroid levels are low, there won't be enough spare capacity for your body to produce the hormones it needs after menopause so give it some help. There are lots of different HRT's to try. If the first doesn't suit you, try the next.

Any transdermal HRT is better than pills regarding risk. The most flexible body identical transdermal HRT is Estrogel and Utrogestan for the progesterone. Estrogel is easy to use and flexible to dose as it's a pump pack of skin gel. Some people have issues with Utrogestan (which is designed for infertility issues but is licensed for HRT), but if swallowing it gives you grief you can use it vaginally. I do the latter and it's fine.

You can try her patch offering first, but the above is the most body identical HRT you can find so might want to wheel that request out at some point.

I got the patches today and she said thyroid is borderline she said free T4 was 11

FT4 needs to be near top of range and FT3 at least half way in range

A FT4 of 11 is likely right at bottom of range
