Nasty thyroid.

Hi all,

Hope someone can help, I've had thyroid trouble for a few years, my thyroid leaves are up & down. It's under active. I have found out due to a scan I have a small goitre due to have another scan in 6mths time. My voice has been husky for 8mths, I canot walk in to a department store or any where there are strong smells I have trouble with my breathing. I would love to no is anyone else has this problem.

Have you any recent thyroid results you can post plus Vit D, B12,folate and ferritin? Don't forget the ranges as well as they differ from lab to lab.

Which levels have been going up and down, TSH and/or FT4 plus do you ever get FT3 tested? More info may make it easier for others to comment.

Hi Karen, yes am taking thyroxine, I take 50 Monday,Wednesday,Friday & Sunday. I take 25 Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

I would return to your doctor as your symptoms suggest that you may need to increase your dose.

Am going to the hospital next month, to have my check up.

Do you have trouble with your breathing when in contact with strong smells?

The consultant told me it's nothing to do with my thyroid. I've not got Asthma been tested.

Hope someone can help doctors haven't got a clue.

I used to have problems with strong smells, and air hunger is also a common symptom of hypothyroidism. Your TSH is way too high. I would contact your doctor even if only by telephone and ask to increase your thyroxine.
