Underactive Thyroid

Hi I have an underactive thyroid I'm always cold my nails are so brittle they do not grow they just break off im always crying my hair just keeps falling out. My doctor said my bloods are at a normal reading what is going wrong I feel my eltroxin levels need to be upped or is there something else I can do?

Can you please post your latest results, with their reference ranges, so we can see what your doctor considers "normal". That just means they're somewhere within the range, but chances are they're not optimal and it sounds as though you are undermedicated. If you don't have them already, ask at your surgery's reception desk for a print out - don't accept verbal or handwritten results, mistakes can be made, make sure you get a print out. Post them on the forum and members will comment. Ideally we need to see
