Can you get natural thyroid medication in Ireland? As in nature throid or armour? Does anyone know if thyrovanz is as effective as the others I mentioned?

Switching to natural thyroid medication
You should enquire at your local pharmacist. If they've never heard of it then it may not be possible. It used to be freely precribed in the UK but has been withdrawn through False Statements being made about it.
Some members buy their own but you'd have to put up a fresh post asking for a private message to be sent to you of where to buy.
I will close your post and if someone has information they will send you a private message as we don't permit details being put on the forum for prescription medication.

There is also another non-prescriptive replacement invented by one of our Advisers, now deceased, but his widow is now dealing with this part. It is also made from New Zealand grass-fed cows. I shall give you a link - just for information.
Dr Lowe's wife -Tammy is dealing with this now. The following is a statement he wrote to the BTA etc and despite three yearly reminders for a response before his death, they never did.

Dr Lowe would never prescribe levo, only NDT or T3 alone for Thyroid Hormone Resistant patients.
Hi Jennyinez,
Where are you based? I'm Irish and I got Nature Throid prescribed recently. I just signed up to this site yesterday so not sure how it all works yet. You can message me for details though. I'm a little nervous about taking it as I've read it has been reformulated and people are experiencing a worsening of their hypo symptoms. Anyone else here having that problem? My hair is thinning terribly so I can't afford for more to fall out. I'm waiting for scalp biopsy results tomorrow to see if there's any genetic cause for mine before I start switching up my meds.
