Help with results before seeing GP

Hope you can help with my latest results. I currently take 25mcg thyroxine and have for a while. I am due to see my GP in a couple of days and as I still feel like crap, have really bad sleep pattern awake most of the night and asleep half the day. I had low potassium 3.3 (3.5-5.30) but had prescription for that and hopefully it’s sorted will get repeat blood test result later. Here are my results:-

Serum HDL 1.18 (>1.20)

Serum LDL 3.2 (<3.00)

Total cholesterol 4.9 (<5.00)

Free T4 8.7 (7.00-17.00)

TSH 2.66 (0.40-4.50)

Serum creatinine 56 (41.00-86.00)

Then there’s liver function and urea and electrolytes but not sure if they are needed. I am going to ask for increase in Levo, but I know they are going to refuse and I will be having another discussion and I want to go in armed with as much info as I can remember (which isn’t a lot these days)

Thanks. Debbie

If your potassium was low you really need to know why. It's one of the extremely important electrolytes. Taking a supplement to raise potassium, then stopping it without ever identifying and fixing the underlying cause of the deficiency is not really the best way to stay healthy, because you are likely to just become deficient again.

Do a search for "importance of potassium" and read a couple of links.

Thanks for the info, I did read a bit about it when I first found out it was low so have been increasing my greens, fish & banana intake. I will talk to doc about it though. Is there a reason why it would fall other than an upset stomach (which I’ve not had) or is it purely diet related. Debbie

This link would be worth reading :

And do a web search for "causes of potassium deficiency". Obviously I have no idea which cause(s) might apply to you.
