A few years back I had a rotator cuff injury to my right shoulder which was treated with a steroid injection. Now the same thing has happened to my left shoulder and I don`t fancy having to wait months for another hospital appointment for another injection. I know that being hypothyroid can predispose someone to tendon injuries. Is there any way of treating this at home?

Try contacting your local hospital physiotherapy department directly. Google for phone number. Many allow you to self refer. I’m working with the local physios on my wrist tendons and I wish I’d seen them more quickly. I’ve found their advice and exercises very helpful.
