Just realised how well I am! (Maybe slightly off topic)

When I was much younger I’d sometimes stay up late if there were things I had to get finished. Today, the weather is a bit cooler but I thought the forecast was for even cooler tomorrow. So I was going to leave the massive ironing event until tomorrow- then I found out the forecast for tomorrow is hot again. So I just stayed up later and did lots of ironing while it’s coolish today. But you know, it’s many years since I could do this. I’ve been pacing myself for years and years and years, but not today, I just did it, with no planning or pacing and still feeling well after midnight! I must be properly well...

This is proof you are on an optimum dose as you didn't even have to think about ironing and still felt well afterwards.

I can relate to this. It's such a good feeling to be able to rise to a challenge, such as the one you describe, and succeed, without suffering consequences (exhaustion, aching etc). For some years I was unable to do much at all, always having to pace myself. It's so easy to lose confidence in ones abilities, after a prolonged period of under-treated hypo, and I still have to give myself a little push sometimes. I so appreciate being able to live my life normally.

So well done. I managed to get there once on my journey and hope to hit that high or normal point again. Lovely to hear a success story!

Good news is never off topic for me. Like Shaws says you must be on your optimum dose of everything. Make a note if it! Sun’s gone here but hopefully it will be back.

Hypothyroidism is well known for its insidious arrival. I am convinced that recovery can be similarly sneaky. But far more welcome.

Mind, I'm not in the least sure that doing ironing until after midnight indicates wellness. Some would suggest doing so is bonkers. :-) :-) :-)

Not so bonkers ... there’s a holiday on its way...

That for me is the difference between taking T3 and not now. Mind you in that hot spell I couldn't function and don't think I could blame thyroid on that as no-one could. As my temperature is never above 36 I decided to take mine the other day when it was 30 outside. I was still only 36 and yet felt boiling so why is that?

I know what you mean but I think it’s only so called cold blooded animals like lizards that have an increase in temperature :) I suppose we feel hot because of the reduced difference between our body temperature and the ambient temperature? I’m glad for a bit of cool too

You could have done it today, it’s teeming down with glorious rain. 🌧💦☔️😁👏🇬🇧

That’s great to hear and is encouraging to those who are not there yet.

I’ve been told that I’m optimally medicated but I am still symptomatic and have been wondering if this is as good as it gets. I look forward to the day where I can do things without fear of the tiring consequences.

Thanks for giving me hope.

I'm another one who at long last can do a whole long list of things during the day and evening. It crept up, then a small set back, but now it seems (OMG I pray) to be here for good. The only set back nowadays healthwise is if I'm not alert enough to bat off a nasty person. Then my adrenals tell me to rest. It was a multi pronged attack in the end - not just getting the correct dose of the correct thyroid hormone, but diet, nutrients, supplements, keeping stress at bay.

Congratulations. I agree with the multi-pronged approach. I changed job to half the hours and a much shorter journey and I think this has helped me to stay well and consolidate wellness. If only I could lose a bit more weight too !
