If you are having symptoms you should get an urgent appt or go to A&E, don't guess when it comes to heart problems.

Are you serious? You think you have it? If you do have it you'd surely be having some pretty bad symptoms and you'd get yourself off to hospital pretty quick.

My late husband had this 3 times, the first time he was blue lighted to hospital as the GP thought he was having a heart attack. The two further occasions the GP still called an ambulance and he was taken to hospital.

Hello thanks for the response - I had a fall landed on my chest left side was more of a roll so didn’t think anything of it had a few slight pains then a week later the pain got much worse especially laying down until for 3 days excruciating my partner wanted to take me to A&E but I wouldn’t (way too many hospital visits).

I can only describe it as something heavy sat on my chests, squeezing my heart shooting pains boob, back and front of ribs left side between shoulders blades and under left arm so was it the fall? It’s now over 10’days and still having pains kept me awake most of last night I’m home Tuesday so if not gone will get it checked out I have hashimotos

The most common cause of pericarditis is a viral infection, it can also be caused by a bacterial infection but it can follow a heart attack or chest trauma, even autoimmune disorders. I would certainly get it checked out if it continues.

You need to go to A&E because it could be a heart attack, my husband had one but didn't realise until a week later !
