Hi . This site has been great to me, and everyone else. I posted my result a few months ago and got some great positive feedback. It was here when I found out I had Hashimotos. So I got my gp involved after showing him my private test results. He increased my levothyroxine from 250mcg to 275. I have been slowly introducing tiromel, and now on 225 levothyroxine and 31/1/4 Tiromel. I am slowly feeling better, and was really looking forward to my latest blood test results to see any improvements. Got them today and they have only test my tsh and t4 . With the recommendation of reducing my levothyroxine again. I am fuming because they want to put me back to square one. Should I go back and demand a full test or go back to blue horizon and do it privately?

Most people have to test privately. It's not right, but that's the way it is

The NHS lab won't test FT3 if TSH is "normal "

If running private tests, get vitamins tested too

My gp did test for everything after I showed him my first private blood tests. I thought he would follow up with another full test. Cannot believe they suggest reducing my meds. I will go private again. The way I feel at the moment, I feel I need to up my Tiromel just a bit more but will wait til I have my tests done. I feel I am going in the right direction with the advice I have been given here. I feel better than I ever did since I had my thyroid removed. But unfortunately nowhere near enough to go back to my postal round. Ill post results when I get them. Thanks slowdragon.

Yes...GP would have seizure if looked at my TSH.

Endo quite happy as they actually look at FT4 and FT3 (needless to say I have to test privately)
