A blood test won't show if he's gluten-intolerant. I imagine the blood test was for Coeliac? It is notoriously unreliable. But, even so, it won't show if he's gluten-intolerant. He still could be. So, the best way to know is to remove gluten from his diet, and see if he feels any better. If not, after a few months, then reintroduce gluten, and see if he feels any worse.
Hi greygoose, thanks for the reply. Yes the blood test did say Coeliac unlikely rather than definitely, as you say, it must be unreliable if they put that.
I’ll ask him to try cutting out Gluten and see where that goes. At the moment he is restricted on days out to keeping near a toilet )-: sorry about the too much info.
