Any particular NDT you'd recommend for a first time user?

After much deliberating I've decided to try NDT. Is there a particular brand better than another for a first time user?

I understand we all respond differently to the various brands, I'm after one with as few fillers as possible. Is WP Thyroid still available? I only ask as Dr P recommend it a while back & before I knew about this forum.

TSH High 8.02 0.27 - 4.20

FT4 14.30 12.0 - 22.0

FT3 5.21 3.1 - 6.8

I don't know that there's a massive difference but some people find some brands more effective than others. I take Nature throid, its the cheapest so I would start there personally. I have tried NP Thyroid but didn't like it as much. WP Thyroid does still exist. Looking at your results and assuming that you are currently taking levothyroxine, you don't seem to have a conversion problem, may be you just need a higher dose? There is room to go up. Hope that helps

Thanks for replying helly. I'll check out Nature throid & it's good to hear WP Thyroid's still going. With regards conversion I'm grateful for small mercies not having that problem, a positive at least 😊

I used Naturethroid but moved on to Thai NDT (Thiroid)because it is hugely cheaper & no VAT to pay or issues with Border Force.

Can't tell any difference.Its important to test out one's response to fillers,but some people do really well on Thyroid-S which has plenty.

WP is not yet back in production unfortunately.

It’s a case of trial and error.

NP and NT didn’t suit me WP did.

I take a thyroid supplement my thyroid doc recommended (Metavive II) its not classed as NDT because its not been regulated but it contains T3/T4 it can be bought from their website. ITs porcine and comes in 15g or 30g tablets. I have been taking it for 6 months and regularly get my RT3 tested.

Thanks Mulls. I did try Metavive a year or more back but admittedly didn't fully stick with it. Nothing to stop me trying it again but what I like about NDT is knowing the measures of T3 & T4.

I use Thiroid from Thailand.It is much MUCH cheaper than NDT from the USA.

I have used Naturethroid & had to pay VAT & a handling charges (Border Force & Royal Mail)

I can't feel the difference.Many need to try different brands,due to a reaction to fillers.

Others do well on brands with more fillers,like Thyroid-S from Thailand
