Latest Blood work - High Antibodies. Opinions?

Hi Folks,

So I've been on a real roller coaster over the past 6 months with my Thyroid (The winter has been hell) on Levo so approx. 8 weeks ago I decided to try a mix of NDT and Levo to try and mimic a normal working thyroid. (Recommended from tiredthyroid.com)

I'm currently on 50mcg Levo and 1 grain of Nature Throid.

Below are my latest bloods; Since my last blood work last year, my Antibodies have increased. Question I have is,

Could this be the NDT resulting in my immune system flaring up?

Would you say they are very high?

Feeling wise, I'm OK, temperature is good, only issue is slight brain fog/fuzzy feeling. Unsure if this could be T3 as I never got this T4?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm taking 1000mcg B12 and 2500iu D3 daily. Selenium is obtained from a daily source of brazil nuts (organic) & 10 sprays daily of Mag spray after a shower.

Antibodies fluctuate naturally. If you feel that the NDT agrees with you, then I wouldn't worry about the antibodies. Are you on a gluten-free diet?

You are slightly under-medicated, because your TSH is a tad high for someone on NDT. And your FT3 isn't quite mid-range. Most people need it up the top of the range to feel well. :)

I feel ‘warmer’ on NDT plus my skin has stopped cracking etc, I was always so cold on T4 only. I do however feel slightly over medicated as struggling to sleep, and my heart pounds away when I lie down. Yes I’m Gluten free, my diet is full of fruit and vegetables (plus meat). Would you suggest an increase in NDT to raise T3 or raise T4?

You could try adding 1/4 grain NDT, see if that helps. :)

Grey goose has covered your question but I would just like to add that relying on Brazil nuts for selenium isn't really a good idea as you have no idea how much each nut contains. Studies have shown it's very unpredictable

Do you have bloods for Transglutaminase Antibodies (tTG-IgA) - Celiacs

No just the above, tbh I do need to get tested.

In my case, the Celiacs disease caused the damage to my thyroid and hence Hypothyroidism and need for Levo or NDT. Celiacs must be 100% gluten free.

You really need to test ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D

Ask GP to do this
