I think I’ve found the missing link to my recovery and possible remission!

I’m so focused on my recovery from hashimotos. It’s been a very long difficult 2 years. But after making changes to my diet, taking correct supplements and going on T3 only I’ve felt so close to getting my life back! But there was something I was still missing...

I’ve been reading a lot on Izabella Wentz and believe my hashimotos was triggered when I got glandular fever (Epstein-Barr Virus - EBV) 20 years ago. I suffered with extremely bad symptoms and had fatigue ever since and ongoing issues with the Epstein-Barr virus.

I’ve repeated been prescribed aciclivor by the hospital during outbreaks. But never realised that this could be the missing link I had all along.

So yesterday I started taking a high dose of aciclivor which I’ll reduce in a few days to 400mg twice a day as a maintenance dose to suppress the virus. I hope this will then in conjunction with my other changes see a difference in my overall health. My main symptoms I still have are tremors and fatigue. The EBV affects the nervous system which I think is where my tremors are coming from.

I’m feeling very positive that this is what I’ve been looking for! If anyone has any success stories on taking a long term maintenance dose of anti viral medication to suppress EBV please comment. I’m sure it will not only help me but many others.

Thanks yes been researching like mad on this one. I’m on day two of aciclivor and no tremors today already. Maybe just a good day so we’ll see!

@slowdragon

I looked at this article drhedberg.com/hashimotos-th... but when I tried taking selenium I felt pretty bad so stopped after a few days.

Is selenium not for everyone with hashimotos? Or should I be supplementing? Thanks

Lauricidin may be a good option for you. Costs about £1 per day, bought from Amazon.

What does it do? Thanks

It breaks open the fat coating of bacteria and viruses, allowing them to be dealt with by the immune system. You should probably add a biofilm buster e.g. nattokinase.

Lauricidin works out much cheaper than monolaurin capsules, which are the same stuff, but in a fixed dose size. The lauricidin is in the form of small pellets, which are taken by the teaspoonful with the scoop provided, or counted out if a smaller dose is needed to avoid a reaction.

Just had a look and not sure if it’s similar but I already eat a lot of coconut oil in Fat Bombs every day and take MCT oil.

Tbh I’ve always had good results short term with aciclivor and don’t suffer side effects. So if I can suppress the virus then I can work on healing my immune system through diet as I’m doing Keto / paleo.

I might be on them long term but if I can strengthen my immune system it may in the future be able to fight the virus.

Obviously I’ve ongoing research on this but think I’m on the right track

Hi MissFG

How are you getting on now? Did the aciclovir make a difference?

Was it prescribed by your GP specifically because of positive EBV testing?

Unfortunately I stopped taking them as forgot them when I went away for a few weeks so need to start them up again.

So wasn’t on long enough to build up in my system to see a difference

Hope they help!

Was it your GP who prescribed them?
