The doctor put me back on 112 levothyroxine because I felt I didn’t have the internal tremors when I was on it before . I been on it for 4 days and my heart is beating fast at times then goes beck to normal . Tremors still there . Should I be patient and wait ??

What dose were you on before? It takes about 6 weeks for a change in dose to take full effect.

I was on 100 and tremors were terrible then doctor put me on 60 mg of Armour Thyroid it caused my heart to beat too fast so he lowered it to 30 my tremors became worse so now I’m at 112 levothyroxine since last Thursday the 25th . I really feel it at night while I’m trying to sleep ..I know it takes a while for it to kick in . I see the doctor in 4 weeks

Quite a number of things can cause tremors besides thyroid conditions although the causes may be interrelated. For example, calcium deficiency can cause tremors. See this link here news-medical.net/health/Cal...

I would ask your doctor to check for all possibilities not just focus on thyroid as the cause of tremors. Lack of vitamin D can cause problems for your body's utilisation of calcium and a range of other functions. So I would ask your doctor to check Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 to cover some of the bases and check whether you have any signs of calcium deficiency and if so, increase calcium in your diet. Low calcium does not always show up in blood tests as your body will extract the needed calcium from bones, leading eventually to osteoporosis. The other vitamins will show a deficiency through blood tests.

It's better to get it from your diet but you need to read up on calcium rich foods. You could try a course of supplements to see if it helps but then adjust your diet to maintain higher calcium levels into the future rather than supplement. The side effect if too much calcium is kidney stones but as you're taking K2, that should help prevent it.

Multivitamins are not much good for anything. Most contain iron and if you take iron with other vitamins you won't absorb them. You need to assess what you are deficient in with blood tests and supplement singly according to results. If you bring your results back here, people who are knowledgeable will comment. For calcium, eat some calcium rich food with every meal. I make kefir and take about 200mls or more every day along with vit D3, vitamin K2-MK7 and magnesium. I also eat a lot of fish with the bones and a range of dairy products. You need enough good fats to absorb calcium efficiently.

I have severe tremors it’s awful. I found a year ago gabapentin gave me some relief which was great!

However now I don’t take them as much as my T3 dose is optimal, I’m on a strict gluten and grain free diet and supplement. And I especially try to avoid stress as it’s a huge trigger for me. So I use Headspace to relax and meditate and exercise.

I feel for you as tremors are very difficult to cope with and for others to understand. I hope you can get some relief soon x
