Triphala?

Hello lovely people - has anyone used Triphala? And how did you get on with it if you did? I have a lot of bloating, gas & indigestion as well as lots of stomach pain. I am a coeliac & dairy intolerant (and I am very strict with my diet), and I have been taking Buscopan from my GP, but was wondering if this might also help. I was just wanting some advice on it & if it interferes with T3 or Adrenavive, which I currently take.

Thank you in advance.

Belle

I have Graves’ disease though now in remission 2 years and feel great again .

I used to be troubled badly with trapped wind bloating etc..

But started taking as part of a new regime for my Graves, .. Acidophilus high strength

I take 40 Billion per day in morning after breakfast ..

I now never feel that bloated ness or trapped wind ... ever

Holland and Barrett sell 20billion

Or try online at Amazon for

20 billion .. I take 2 a day and

It was a dramatic change in bodily discomfort for me .

Good luck

Mx🌹

Thank you - does your one contain any dairy? I really struggle to find any that don't. I did try one from Holland & Barratt and it didn't seem to make a difference, how long were you taking it before you felt it had worked?

Thank you very much for your reply xxx

Hi Belle,

Yes I take Triphala. Been Hypo for almost 2 years now and for me constipation has always been a problem. I took high doses of magnesium for a quite a while which helped but for me though it was unpredictable and gave me a lot of wind. Then reading a post on here about Triphala I gave it a try. For the first time in many months daily functions were normal, predictable with no abnormal wind. I take T4/T3 along with other supplements. Hope this helps. x

Thank you I also take a lot of magnesium, so wondering if that maybe to the source of some of the problems for me. Do you take your Triphala before or after food? And morning or evening?

Thank you again for your reply xxxx

Hi Belle,

I take it after dinner in evening about 7pm. I buy 'Organic India' Triphala from Amazon. Says take 1 or 2 capsules twice a day but we are talking Hypo here so I've always taken 4 in the evening which works for me :) xx

Oral Magnesium sometimes increases the bacteria involved in SIBO. Look up SIBO and see if it relates. You could use a topical mag. oil instead.

Thank you, sorry for the delay in replying to this! Where can you get topical mag oil? Thanks again :)

I usually order from either iHerb.com or Amazon but it may also be found in stores. I hope the Triphala is working for you.

Hi! I used it but it had no effect on me. Having said that I have been on Ayurvedic treatment for few months with Ayu herbs prescribed and all my digestive issues that I’ve been suffering from for close to 10 years disappeared. Magic ☺️

Glad they have helped you :) How do a go about sourcing them? Thanks again :)

I wouldn’t risk taking Ayurvedic herbs on my own. I go to an Indian Ayurvedic Doctor here in Sydney who prescribes them to me after assessment. He does tongue, palm and iris reading and can tell what I’m going through which is always 99% accurate without me saying a word.

Just wanted to add that Ayurvedic herbs should be taken according to our body dosha (constitution) as something that can help to balance one person can unbalance the other. The same goes for food. Therefore Ayurvedic treatment should be always personalised. I am a Vata and and I cannot eat or do things that someone who’s Pita or Kapha would thrive on.
