Update from totally confused!

Thank you to all those people who responded to my pleas yesterday, I have seen a different doctor this morning who did some more bloods there and then, she seemed as perplexed as me that the results had changed so much from last year. She said she would phone the labs and ask them to do the antibody tests but was unsure whether they would because I might have to see an endo for them to be done.

She has repeated the FT4 & T3 tests so I am hoping that they will have changed somewhat. She has also said she will call me on Thursday after discussing me with the doctor I originally saw.

I have started calming down a little, so thank you all again for taking the time to respond both yesterday and this morning.

It's not really a good idea to do the bloods 'there and then', because the TSH level changes throughout the day. And if the blood was taken in the afternoon, the TSH will be at its lowest. And, if bloods are always done at the same time of day, you can't really compare them. :(

I think she was just very surprised at the change in my status, and didn't want send me away without looking in to things further. The bloods were taken at about 10.30 this morning and the ones I had done last week were taken at 8.45 am (fasting, as recommended on this fab site) I couldn't wait until I went to the doctors this morning as it's a bit of a drive so had to eat.

I am praying that my antibodies come back high now, at least that may go some way to explaining things.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

You're welcome. 10.30 isn't too bad, but the TSH will be lower than at 8 am. You just need to be aware of that. Because you're doctor won't be! :)
