Has anyone ever been to see any of the doctors/practitioners off the Thyroid UK list that they recommend?

You need to email [e-mail] to request the most recent list

I've asked twice in the last year and they most recent had some different than the first so it gets updated fairly regularly

The most recent email I had from Louise contained nhs and private endocrinologist. But I did only ask for endo's.

Last year I asked for a list of GP's and was sent both the nhs and private endo lists plus a private gp list. They didn't have an nhs gp list x

Hi I had to pay and send away for the list and loads of other stuff

You only have to pay if you join Thyroid UK (the charity, not this forum) as a member. People don't have to pay for just the list.

You'd be better emailing Louise Roberts ([e-mail]) for the full list as the people I've seen might not be local to you. As Treepie says, if people on here and members of Thyroid UK think a consultant is particularly good, they can contact Louise so the doctor can be added. They will all have been recommended by patients.

It is so difficult to recommend though because one person can have a good experience and one a bad with the same doctor.

It really does depend on what the issues are. Functional medicine doctors look at the root cause as do nutritionists. Whereas conventional doctors seem to look at blood test results and not the whole picture.

Yes, I went to one in Winchester. Well worth it.

Yes, in Birmingham. Privately the first time, then asked to be referred back into the NHS for subsequent visits. Very understanding.
