Mercury Pharma Liothyronine 20mcg

Does anyone in the UK know where I can obtain Mercury Pharma Liothyronine 20 mcg with a private prescription without paying extra than the meds cost please? Don't mind paying postage but don't want a company like Boots that charge £200.00 extra because it's private.

I would not recommend Mercury / Concordia / AMCo liothyronine, it is poor quality with an extortionate price. If your prescription is for 20 mcg liothyronine I would try and get Thybon Henning as it is much cheaper.

But that one made me dizzy and the French one.Tthey both list dizziness as their number one side effect whereas the Mercury one doesn't and I didn't get it with that. I was absolutely fine on that one.

I've had the Thybon one and didn't get on with it. I just want a few of the Mercury Pharma to tide me over until the GP and hospital have stopped arguing over who is going to supply it.

Summer64,

I can only suggest you try some other pharmacies to compare prices. 14 x 20mcg Mercury Pharma s should cost £130+.

I rang the hospital I come under this morning and they have it and as it's not prescribed any more said they would be glad to sell me some. Someone was supposed to ring me back but they haven't. I would willingly pay the £130.00 for a month's worth to tide me over but I'm not able to pay the extra £200 on top. It's a disgrace. If the hospital have said I can have it and this is sitting there already bought in why on earth can't they just let me have it any way. It will go past it's date soon.

Summer64,

That £200 on top is possibly just a Boots thing. I've certainly not heard of others being surcharged for private prescriptions.

The hospital didn't seem to think they would have to charge any more but they haven't got back to me like they promised and it's going to be too late soon to arrange someone to collect as the hospital is 15 miles way.
