Where to order /get Tirosint?

I have been advices to start a new post there for I will ask to anyone who imhas any information to from where to get Tirosint liquid capsules ? What are their prices ? Many thanks

From what I understand, Tirosint is only available in the US.

Tirosint is available in a number of European countries - sometimes under another brand name.

That's good to hear. Fortunately I'm in the US so it's always been an option for me and is the only Levo brand I can take. Hopefully, others wil have pricing info for Ari3 since mine is mostly covered by my insurance - a blessing since it is quite expensive otherwise!

Is it because on the other levo brands u r sensitive their fillers ?

Yes, I was experiencing stomach issues and other side effects. Also, I find the Tirosint to be more potent vs other brands (or perhaps, it’s more easily absorbed for me).

One thing to note: with Tirosint being a gel cap (solid inside like a jelly bean) it can be cut with a sharp Xacto knife or razor blade. So, you could always save a bit of $$ by ordering a higher mcg and cutting the capsules in half.

I had also severe stomach pains rash joint and muscle pain.iam now on no medication and feeling absolutely fine now no rash breathing difficulties all side effects disappeared lol I have ordered two packs they r expensive but if I won’t try I won’t know.Did u expierence any side effects on Tirosint? Did u start on smaller dose and went up or straight away started on ur dose?

Well how can I cut it I mean if there is liquid inside how can I store other half? Won’t ir leak out?

I started on smaller dose, and increased gradually under the care of my endocrinologist. Blood tests are a must. You can’t do this quickly - body needs time to adjust to feel full effects. Others on TUK are more well versed in the process of doing things on ones own.

The gel caps are semi solid so nothing oozes out. Think gummy candies. You can put the cut half back into the blister pack slot from which it came. Another way is to take a full capsule every other day which would equalize out over the course of the week since Levo has a long half life so effects build and are not felt immediately (unlike T3 which effects are felt quickly).

Are you under the care of an Endo? Getting dosing right is tricky stuff.

Thanks for the information yes iam under the care of endo .iam sewing him this Friday but he doesn’t know yet I ordered this medication as any others Levothyroxine here in uk we ain’t got much to choose from they are not hypoallergenic as Tirosint is and hardly anyone gets it here as I think it is very expensive .the thing is I desperately need to increase my levels as iam hypo so much I used to be on 50mcg Levothyroxine but could bare the pain so dropped to 35.7 and than I stopped so now I ain’t got any medication on me waiting for this delivery

Is it any cheaper in Europe and can GP order it from there? My private Endo wants to charge a fee of £50 for a prescription from a pharmacy service in Wimpole St. London.

Yes u r correct I ordered it from USA today this morning 28 gel capsules for £128 all sizes are the same prices .They do different sizes just in case ! I know they are extremely expensive but if this will help me to minimise my side effects iam ready to pay fortune for my health and to feel better as right now iam with no medication left n my levels are just dropping down and iam suffering with severe hypothyroidism at the min .so if u need or someone needs any information where to get it I can help you with it! Nothing is impossible just need to search for it

It appears that Tirosint is now being sold repackaged as Lannett in the USA.

Roseway labs and PHARMACIERGE in the uk do via private prescription.

And there are some pharmacies that should order it in with NHS prescription and a special form filled out for unlicensed medications but pharmacists aren't willing to offer it due to extra paperwork 🙄 And having to import it.

Im trying to get it due to having an allergic reaction to other brands of levothyroxine due to fillers. Will update you if i manage to get it via nhs as per the MHRA Guidance Note 14 - The supply of unlicensed medicinal products (“specials”) paragraph 2.2 it should be prescribed if there is a special individual need for it.
