Vitamins and minerals test results help?

Hello,

I've just received my results from hair analysis test, I got this test due to symptoms I am having like anxiety, thyroid marker was high one week (underactive thyroid) then it went to just above normal, hair loss, very dry itchy skin, tiredness, signs of depression/mood swings (only sometimes but think its more likely down to feeling groggy) along with very heavy painful periods.

I had bloods taken which suggested my calcium was a little low but then these results show high calcium levels.

My diet is healthy apart from a sugar craving I have from the minute I get up on a morning.

Where I have had the hair sample from have stated that I should only buy the vitamins and minerals from their website as their vitamins and minerals are 95% absorbed by the body. These are the vitamins and minerals they have recommended. But will cost over £100

Para pack

Adrenal complex

Pyridox plus

Potassium plus

Manganese plus

Zinc plus

Vitamin c plus

Hcl v plus

How do I find vitamins and minerals that are bio available? And are not so expensive.

I have attached a pic of results

Thank you

I don't know about anyone else but it is impossible for me to make out anything in your photo.

Thanks

Jjb1983,

I can't read the image either.

I buy my vitamins and minerals on Amazon. If you buy on Amazon please use the affiliate link healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Thank you clutter

Hair analysis is controversial: quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRe...

It doesn't surprise me that the people who charged you a lot of money for the hair analysis are now trying to sell you a lot of overpriced supplements. I buy B12 and D from Amazon.

That's what I thought that's why I'm trying to find if other supplements are bio available which apparently means they have a lot more of whichever vitamin you buy in it and also your body absorbs 95% of it.

They told me Holland and Barrett vitamins hardly have anything in them and are mainly fillers.

How do I know if I'm getting a good vitamin?

Thank you

I have been told that too. I use Cytoplan brand, they are highly absorbed by the body.

Yes, I’m Uk too. Get them on their website.

Well it depends what you need. All pills are mainly fillers. The amount of stuff you actually need to take is normally so small you wouldn't be able to pick it up in your fingers and put it in your mouth without the fillers. Holland and Barrett are more expensive than Amazon. Are you in the UK? Have you ever had a blood test done for your thyroid? Or a blood test for Vitamin D, B12, iron, ferritin, folate? Almost everyone in the UK is in danger of becoming Vitamin D deficient over the winter, and should take Vitamin D supplements to prevent deficiency, but once you become deficient it takes large amounts (not the daily 800iu) of Vitamin D to bring your levels up to a healthy level. SeasideSusie has given some very good advice, and you can search on this forum for advice on Vitamin B12 too - which type and how much to take.

Yeah I'm in the UK, my doctors have checked vitamin d just before Christmas and it was in the middle not sure of numbers. My thyroid was tested and within 6 weeks the markers had gone from 8.96 to 4.56 then to 2.69 the range was 4.5 the doctor said it could have raised due to anxiety/panic attack.

I will have a look on Amazon I'm just a bit funny buying from sites tbh.

Thank you
