Your ferritin is very low. I would ask your GP for iron panel and full blood count to see if there is any anaemia. Start eating liver once a week to help raise ferritin which needs to be at least 70 for thyroid hormone to work.
You are undermedicated with that dose of levo. Most people feel best when TSH is 1 or below and FT4/FT3 in the upper part of their ranges. Your Total T4 is very low and FT4 barely in range. I would increase dose to 150mcg daily as a start.
Vit D needs to be 100-150nmol/L. You could supplement with about 3000-4000iu then retest in April. When taking D3 we need it's important cofactors K2-MK7 and magnesium.
Your B12 is low, needs to be at least 500, preferably at the top of it's range. Check for signs of B12 Deficiency b12deficiency.info/signs-an... and if you have any then post on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum healthunlocked.com/pasoc
Because there is often something else going on when ferritin is low (hence the suggestion to ask for iron panel and FBC) then I don't suggest iron tablets because it's important to know if iron deficiency anaemia (or other form of anaemia) is present. You should point out your low ferritin result to your GP and ask for those other tests and he can then decide if he wants to prescribe iron tablets. I was offered a prescription recently for a ferritin level of 39, I refused because I know I suffer from the most awful constipation even with a very low dose. Liver will raise ferritin, no doubt about it and it can be 'hidden' in casseroles, curry, cottage pie, bolognese, etc.
Vit D and magnesium need to be taken at least 4 hours away from Levo, iron 4 hours away from Levo and 2 hours away from any other supplements/medication as it affects their absorption, other supplements 2 hours away from Levo. You would have to Google for interactions between any supplements and any other medication you take. Also Google for interactions between Levo and those other medications as some need to be taken as far away as possible from Levo.
I haven't heard that about melatonin. It was suggested to me by a practioner due to poor sleep which wasn't helped by a fairly long trial of 5HTP at varying doses and times.
Thanks seaside susie. How on earth do u get all ur knowledge about these.
I had considered 5 htp also. Had took a thyroid supplement but haven’t taken it for over a year.
Are all people’s days constantly arranged by taking medications and supplements.
Atm I take twelve tablets plus that’s not counting any supplements I’m for starting.
I’ve an appointment for Monday now with doctor. So maybe now having these results they’ll actually see that there’s issues rather than the usual flippant within range comment.
