New Liothyronine manufacturer?

I have just collected my wife's Liothyronine, and they now come in a blister pack packaged (and manufactured?) by Morningside Healthcare. Does this mean that at last the NHS is shopping around for these? I know that Concordia has just been cited for profiteering with this product.

Chrys,

NHS is not shopping around. Morningside Healthcare Liothyronine has been available since August, and a third supplier, Teva Liothyronine, has been available since September/October. They are priced pennies less than Mercury Pharma and both cost in excess of £9 per tablet so they are profiterring too.

There are now two other UK manufacturers with license to produce T3. The other is Tev, which is apparently lactose free.

All are very similar price for NHS.

Personally I have found the Morningside Healthcare absolutely fantastic, much much more effective than Mercury Pharma (but it was always almost on its self by date, perhaps that was why).

Be interesting to see if your wife notices any difference

I have been on a combination of T4 and T3 for several years. Recently I had started to feel under treated again. I then realised that my Mercury Pharma liothyronine tablets were out of date having been dispensed with a very short expiry date. My pharmacist recommended that they should be destroyed - 6 weeks worth , what a waste! My new supply are from Morningside with a 2019 expiry date and I too feel much better. It was such a breakthrough for me when I started on T3 I dread not being able to have it again.

Yes snap. Though my Mercury Pharma weren't quite out of date

I first started on Greek Uni Pharma, while applying for NHS T3.

Uni Pharma was astonishing. I went from virtually immobile, to being able to walk normally for over an hour within days

The dose was doubled when changed to Mercury Pharma, but didn't really give a boost.

Didn't really notice, but slowed up considerably on last batch from MP. The last month especially.

Morningside has returned my energy levels to normal. Astonishing and delightful.
