Hi (Sorry this may be a bit long)

I'm a newbie & looking for some advice.

Will start with my symptoms, around 5 yrs ago I had the sensation of food/something getting stuck in my throat. Was sent for various tests including a throat scan (biopsy was also carried out), thyroidits was loosely mentioned but not followed up. Conclusion after a barium swallow test was gastro reflux & given medication, which hasn't helped much & I still have this sensation.

Over the years other symptoms have developed & progressively gotten worse. My symptoms are numbness in arms, fingers & feet, easy bruising especially on legs, tiredness, loss of drive, aching joints especially in fingers, tiredness, dry skin/hair, aching legs, constipation, always cold..to name a few.

I've been told my TSH level is normsl but earlier this year my vitamin D was low at 24 & there were issues with my Calc results.

Was prescribed strong dose of VitD & it then rose to 67 & I was advised to just take over the counter VitD.

After some repeat tests & my Calc levels fluctuating I was referred to an Endcrinologist in June, who said I didn't need to be there so discharged me after our initial consultation. He suspected Coeliac disease which I tested negative for.

More recently I have been back to the Drs has not happy or feeling better.

One Dr sent me for more TSH tests, TS3 & TD4 plus Anti TPO. For some reason TS3/4 weren't carried out but my Anti TPO came back at 431.7 U/L.

Another Dr another test, again TS3/4 were requested & not done, sent back for more bloods but only my TS3 & TSH have been done even though TS4 was requested.

Results are TSH 3.91 0.30-5.00 miu/L TS3 4.9 3.10-6.80pmol/L

Today another Dr has suggested that he thinks it's VitD & calc levels that are causing my symptoms so sent me for yet more blood tests (starting to feel like a pin cushion ha).

Think I've seen 4 different Drs at my surgery now which doesn't help. I just feel I'm getting somewhere only to find myself back at square one.

Also my grandad did suffer with Graves disease.

Can anyone offer me any advice?

Thanks

Can you get a copy of all your blood test results along with the laboratory ranges and post them on this forum? If in England you are entitled to results.

If you can afford it, you could get your own blood tests done so at least you would have a full picture. In the UK, Medichecks and Blue Horizon do finger prick tests and you can send off for them through their websites. Check out Thyroid UK website for more information.

Once you have the results, post the full set along with the laboratory ranges on here and then people will be able to help and make useful suggestions.

Thank you. Have had a print out today of all my test results from Apr this yr so will post them.

Will see what this next set of tests say then think private testing may be my next step.

I do suspect I have Hashimotos but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Sounds like Low B12 too. Swallowing is linked to a well performing vagus nerve and B12 when low can be neurological. Can you gargle with ease ?
