It sounds positive as they commented that it's all in keeping with Hashimotos. Remember the vast majority of thyroid nodules are benign so it doesn't sound like they are worried so please don't get worried about it.

Sleep tight, me too..shattered.

The test results are showing you are hypothyroid at the moment TSH. What the results indicate

is that the anterior lobe has been scanned, but there is nothing to say the posterior lobe has been scanned. The test shows you have hashimotos now whereas the drug given was for hyperthyroid.

From the scan you don't know how long you have had hashis. As you were never given a leaflet

you were not given any side effects such as to gastro intestinal problems and to the liver and to blood with blood cell changes.

You may not have had a test for parathyroids. If you still have pain and hoarseness,

this can be a side effect of the drug. As you mentioned you are on block and replace, is the plan to make you euthryoid and put you on levothyroxine for the rest of your days? My daughter has a similar condition to yours starting with hyper then going hypo and is now on levo permanently.

The failure of communication is the cause of your anxiety plus the errors and delay in blood test results. If there are any problems with blood cells, you should be taken off carbi.

Hope you are feeling better.

Hi there gadgrantgg im just on carbi not levo but only on a dose of 10mgs but i think he will have to titrate that again now.

Just googling stuff last night and my mind went into overdrive. But i ok now. Yes you are right just sort of felt yesterday- ok then what do i do now then? But my great endo will view med notes today and contact me hopefully if not i will be chasing his backside as i cant stay on this dose of meds. Do you think he will do anything about the nodules etc? Clutter advised they are too small which is a good thing.

I dontbhave hoarseness or vocal changes anymore but did back in july. Still get abit of stabbing pain and tightness in the neck on slightly and do have gastric problems - acid reflux and a hiatul hernia diagnosed 7 years ago but just get on with that. Is there anything i need to ask endo about, graves tsi test i will ask for but he will dig heels in and say no because tsh has risen!! Xx

Oh forgot where does posterior gland sit, behind trachea?

in reply to Rmichelle

Yes on either side of the wind pipe - just type in image of anterior and posterior view of the thyroid cartilage - lo -you can see the "ithmuth" too.

Don't think nodules will be touched. If you have a diffuse goitre, with hashimotos, that is for your endo to help you understand what treatment you are receiving and why.

Which side is the stabbing pain? Is it in the front of the thyroid to the side, at the base of the neck?

Is you neck the same size as the other|? Is your neck touch sensitive? Does it feel compressed with a scarf or round neck polo necked jumper?

As you have stomach reflux with hiatus hernia, and coeliac disease, you have to be careful with

acid foods, but at the same time if you don't secrete enough stomach acid, you may get further digestive problems. The diet going gluten free might need modifying excluding

all bread and cakes biscuits whether they are gluten free or not. I used to run a diet club many years ago and know full well the toll all those foods you crave for can actually increase weight,

and slow down your metabolism. If you have colonic problems some roughage foods recommended such as allbran, and certain fruits and vegetables can actually irritate the bowel.

The safest fruits are apricots, dried, and stewed, apples and bananas. Tomato juice might be citric, but I don't find it so. Too improve the metabolism Dr Stephen Gundry's diet has helped me

with polyphenols in black currants blackberries raspberries blue berries bilberries, eaten with

natural yoghurt with no added sugar but a bit of canderel to give a flavour. Whilst on this diet omitting all pastries and carbs, with limited pasta and rice after op for melanoma I lost weight.

Since slacking going back to an ordinary diet, I have put on weight. My energy levels have gone down. As you know all you need to do is have meat and two vegs preferably no potatoes,

chips, and wheat snacks, so roast chicken with sliced green dark green vegs such as broccoli, spinach runner or French beans as a first course will give you the vits and minerals you need.

Scrambled egg, on its own is fine. An apple for a morning snack, and a supper of a gluten free

crispbread such as glutrafin and fishpaste, and puddings made with natural yoghurt have probiotics in them which help the bowel, may help you feel better within a few days.

Fish several times a week is said to help metabolism, as it contains iodine.

Think the gluten free products sound good, but without any of them - you might improve dramatically. It's well worth looking at Dr Stephen Gundry's video - it has helped me by just eating the berry diet, but not buying supplements.

Take care -

Hi there again, stabbing pain is very short and dont get it every day mainlyvwhen thyroid feels swollen and yes somedays it can be very sensitive with pressure but i surpose thats because of hashis- does a thickened isthmus 4mm mean that is a start of goiter?
