Are these good for symptoms of bloating and reflux? These symptoms seem to make me tired and I am unable to eat well and enjoy my food.

Bloating is definitely putting pressure on me and even makes me slightly breathless.

I've never tred this as I'm not a fan of anything other than dark chocolate mints.

I stopped eating things that give me indigestion, & started eating kefir every day to improve my digestion. If you now what your triggers are, it would be good to stop eating them. If you don't know, try cutting out regular foods for a week to find out. I didn't suffer with bloating, but get very painful indigestion for days after eating undercooked alliums, or even one small piece of milk chocolate. Anything processed has a negative effect.

Chris Kresser has a free e-book on treating GERD if you sign up for emails, & several shorter articles on improving digestion & thyroid health.

ps If it's gluten, it takes 3 months to get it out of our bodies.

Are you still having problems on your low T4 dose ?

I have read some of your posts and i think your low weight is a big issue in why you do not feel so well. Have you any cholesterol tests ? I wonder if your cholestrol is to low. would be interesting to get some info on this area.

If you are thin and low weight these types of people tend to have adrenal issues. They can be super fit for much of their life, but when it goes wrong it goes big time. You have good thyroid function is seems even off meds as your FT3 is always in the 5's. Yes TSH is creeping up to 3 and this is not a good sign.

Quite often the issue can be the absorption of the T3 and this is related to the adrenals.

Possible remedies are to eat very frequently and in smallish amounts. High protein is essential and lots of milk and fresh orange juice. Orange juice is very good at raising cholesterol which is the basis for your steroid hormone production.

Taking the T4 at bedtime can often be a much better strategy than taking it in the morning. It will aid cortisol production for the next day. It would be good if you could get a 24h saliva test done to see how your adrenals work.

Another supplement which i think you would benefit from is progesterone in low doses -3-6mg per day. This will complement your own production and improve cortisol levels and so thyroid function. The only product for a male to use is ProgestE. It is sold by a company in sheffield for about £35. a bottle will last for over 2 yrs easily. Have a google for it.

Theres is lots you can do and it does need some research, but it is not a simple case of using thyroid hormones to get better. You need to look at the overall metabolism and try and figure out what has gone wrong.

Bloating often connected to gluten

Are you gluten free?

Reflux is most likely low stomach acid (common when hypo)

Lots of posts on here about how to improve with Apple cider vinegar or Betaine HCL

I have had recent great success with reducing bloating and IBS by changing to A2 milk. It's got a different lactose profile. You can get it in supermarkets, check which ones near you on their website. I received a free sample and was astounded at the difference it made. I'll do another post to tell all. Definitely worth a try.
