Have you got an independent chemist near to you? They should be able to get any levothyroxine that is currently available in the UK. Actavis are based in Barnstaple. You could contact them and ask where your chemist can order it from.

I had trouble with TEVA but I'm ok with Actavis.

Thank you

I have a actually prescription which states that brand on it but when ever I take it in a chemist they say they can't get that band in Nd only offer teva

I then explain I can't take that brand hence why prescription states the brand I am ok with

But they ask me to take it to another chemist this has happened at e different chemist so far

Urbansky,

I would expect Boots to offer Almus - my branch insists that is the only make they handle (in 100 and 50 microgram tablets). And I would expect some/many/all branches of Lloyds to offer Northstar. Both Almus and Northstar are simply repackaged Actavis - they say that on the package, on the Patient Information Leaflet and, I think, on the actual blister packaging.

If you still have problems, contact the head office of each pharmacy that has refused. It is unacceptable.

Be aware that the Boots pharmacy staff are often clueless about what's inside the Almus box, so you may have to explain to them that you need to check the PIL and blister strips inside to be sure they are Actavis (they almost always are, but best to be safe and see with your own eyes!)

Hi

I use to get mine from Boots and they always gave me Actavis.

I now go to an independent chemist and they get it in for me, so as Nanaedake says try an independent.

Good luck.

My local Lloyds has activis, have had no problems so far. Best of luck with the search.

I take activis all the time, won’t have anything else. My pharmacy in south Leicestershire manages to get it, although a while back she said she was having a problem and I asked at the Asda pharmacy and they said they would be able to get it. Hope this is helpful.
