Medicate? Still unsure...

I posted my results maybe 3 months ago. I went on WP thyroid for a couple weeks at the smallest dose possible. Stopped due to throat soreness. Decided to take iodine with tyrosine, selenium and zinc. Just retested and all the same but tsh lower. Reverse t3 is 11.5 and range is 9-27ng/dl. I didn't have antibodies tested again since both were in range around 30 and I've been gf diet for 3 years. I finally have a ferritin of 54 after struggling for at least 10 years with weird anemia issue. My b12 is about 800 and D is about 60. Should I go back on ndt?

What time of day was this test done? Was it fasting? How about your last test, what time?

Doesn't look hypo to me. However, I really wouldn't recommend taking iodine unless you've had that tested and found to be low. Even so, just taking iodine without supervision of an experienced doctor, is a risky thing to do.

First fasted and 8am. Second they couldn't find the order so had to wait until noon for Dr. to resend and had a mocha in that time. It was potassium iodide with Tyrosine by Thorne, I think it's a small amount. I don't eat salt much so I figured it was ok?

In that case, you cannot compare the two tests.

You shouldn't be eating table salt with iodine, anyway. Nasty stuff! If you have salt - and you really should, because the adrenals need it - sea salt or pink Himalayan salt are best. :)

Ah ha! Ok thanks. With a low tsh and sorta low t3 would it be helpful to take ndt or not? My sister was just dignosed but her MD won't test t3. Her tsh was 5.2 so I didn't know if I was in any sort of early stages.

If it's consistantly at 5.2, then she is hypo. Whether or not she'd do well on NDT, there's no knowing. What was her FT4?

Ft4 was .9

I'm confused, now. You said her FT3 was sort of low, then you said her doctor wouldn't test it? So, how does she know it's sort of low?

Do you have a range for the FT4, please? Results are meaningless without the range.

Sorry that is because I started by talking about me and then used my sister as example of why I might want to start early in meds so I don't get too full blown hypothyroidism. The range for the FT4 where she was tested was .84 to 1.71

My doc prescribed me a small amount of t4 and t3 too based on labs very similar to yours, basically euthyroid with low t3. She prescribed meds because I presented with hypo symptoms and had low t3.

I have not restarted the thyroid meds and instead am supplementing similarly with a small amount of iodine, therapeutic doses of selenium, zinc and tyrosine. I am and took tests for iodine deficiency. I take about 400 mcg of iodide. I too haven’t noticed much change in my levels.

I’m like you and wondering if I should medicate as well. I will say that I felt better on t3. Digestive problems cleared.

If you felt better than I'd say it might be a good indicator. So you were given t3 med only?

I was given the choice of T3 only or a combination.

I was given WP Thyroid. Since I only have low t3 maybe that is a better choice. No side effects?

I tried wp thyroid but it bothered my stomach, so I got Tirosint and compounded t3. How’s wp thyroid working for you?
