Hi I saw an endo doctor and showed him some blood results I got with medichecks, it showed that TSH was slightly above range+I had antibodies. He wanted to do his own blood tests. I rang up later for results +was told everything was fine apart from TPO was positive 148 (0-59). I asked for a copy of the letter/results that he was sending to the GP + also included foliate 4.2, ferritin 62.8. They have just said I am at risk of hypothyroidism +to monitor bloods twice a year.
I have another appointment with the endo at the end of the month, but should I push for them to do something, would they actually listen or just have to accept that they won't +look at other options myself. I still have symptoms relating to hypothyroidism + just want to start feeling better. What are people's thoughts on NDT ? +if the doctors are not going to start me on any medication, do you think this could be an option for me? If so could you message me a reliable source.
Thank you

I don’t think your doctor can give you medication. I think the request has to come from an endo first. And then they will sort you out after that. T3 isn’t given anymore in uk but in special case it has, you will need to get a Mp involved, but t4 is still available it depends on what the endo things you need. Some people are seeking medication elsewhere. Just to feel better. And anyone will who knows of a supply of t3 will personal email you. If you post you test results on here someone might comment on it and tell you if you need medications.
Thank you. I am on 800iu vit d per day and having b12 injections every 3 months. I have started to look into gluten free+bought some gluten free products. I have also started to take thyroid support formula from higher nature. Which contains different supplements, including vit b6 6.6mg, folic acid 120ug, zinc 5mg, selenium 60ug, iodine 60ug, tyrosine 900mg, b12 10ug, magnesium 57mg, copper 500ug, vitamin b3 30mg. You can take 2 to 3 capsules per day. Do you think this is OK. Or should I buy separate supplements like the b12 you mentioned, selenium etc. It's just that these had good reviews so thought I would give them a try.
