Hi i have posted on here not long ago with my thyriod results. The last 2 TSH and Serum free T4 results;

15th September TSH 15.75 mU/L

Serum free T4 12.6 pmol/L

3rd August 23.94 mU/L

Serum free T4 12.1 pmol/L

Normal TSH 0.35 - 5.50 mU/L

Normal serum free T4 10.00 - 19.80 pmol/L

The GP has said my results are high but not too bad I have moderately high antibodies too. She has prescribed 25 micrograms of Levothyroxine. She has said this will not make any difference to how I feel but to take it and repeat blood tests in 6 weeks.

I am under the endocrine clinic in Cambridge and see a consultant there but have had no help at all. I have basically begged her to help with no treatment. I'm due back next Thursday and I'm dreading it.

Could someone please suggest a consultant I can get some help from as I'm at a loss as to know who to see. I have a list from here but it would help me to get suggestions from members who have had a good experience from a Dr. Many thanks

You are hypothyroid, your free t4 is on the floor!!! Sadly doctors only go by your TSH, the situation just worsens!

I cannot see how anyone can recommend an endocrinologist because they all go by the TSH, which is a rubbish test.

Your free t4 should be at the top of the lab range and your free t3 towards the top.

First of all your vitamin d needs to be towards the top of the lab range, your B12 above 500, your ferritin and folate at least around ¾ of the lab range. Ask your gp to test them.

Whereabouts do you live?

Hi chippysue i have no idea of my vitamin d my

B12 was 251 ng/L

Normal 211.00-911.00 ng/L

It has been around this level for about 5 years they have told me a don't absorb it but my levels are currently normal. My folic acid is low and I took a month of 5mg folic acid in July not tested since.

I feel really awful. The GP has finally decided that it's Chronic fatigue syndrome. I live in cambridgeshire but will travel to get help.

Good news - you have so much room for improvement!

Ditch the folic acid - google it! Buy folate

You have B12 deficiency, ignore ranges as it should be above 500!!!!

You can buy your own injections but for now get Jarrows sublingual B12 highest dose from Amazon.

SACK your dr, chronic fatigue is a symptom of hypothyroidism!!!

I run a thyroid support group because of being told these lies - next meeting Hampton in Arden in Solihull 4th November 2 to 5pm. People travel from all over. It’s near a train station!

Ask to have your vitamin d tested, I bet you are deficient!

How is your ferritin too?

Essential to test vitamin D

£28 postal kit from vitamindtest.org.uk

Hashimoto's very often affects the gut, leading to low stomach acid, low vitamin levels and leaky gut.
