Hi All

Been to first app at Hos for scan results. Good news nodules not suspicious. Consultant said most hypos have them it's common. He said FT3 is no use to me or him. Agreed TSH of 1.5ish could get to 1 but didn't really agree about getting the Ft4 to mid range. Agreed I have auto immune same as my mother. Sent me for C3/C4 blood test. Wouldn't help discuss b12 iron folate which GP done and passed off as normal said see GP again. Didn't say what dose of levo so I presume to stay on 50mcg.

Have a question about my mother's vit d result from hospital blood test back in july. It was 25 under the range. Takes fultium 800mg calcichew d3 with contains vit d. Her GP reception kept saying no hospital result letter which is a lie so she finally seen GP today. He said no changes to stay on fultium 800 calcichew. So is this correct with result of 25 ?

Also hospital secretary was rude yesterday i was asking for print out of b12 iron folate as consultant put on letter all normal. Told to ask GP who refused to give mom a copy today. Said ask hospital it's their test results.

Going round in circles for myself and family. The NHS can be quite useless at times. And I work for NHS always go out my way to help people. So frustrating how long it takes to get answers to get results.

So any ideas regarding her vit D ?

YOu really need to get hold of the blood test results or get them done privately via online lab so you know for sure what's going on with your own and your mothers blood tests. Thyroid UK website has good suggestions about reliable laboratories that people on this forum use. I've used City Assay's and they're reliable and quick.

You can register online for accesss to GP bloodd test results. Not so easy to get results from the hospital but if your ring the dept. you might be able to chase results through to your GP.

Hi thanks for advice

I explained to secretary weeks ago mom needed a full breakdown of levels but the clinic letter came back with only tsh ft4 results no vitamin results. Then when i was at hos yesterday same clinic i asked reception who said ask secretary who was rude. Consultant on holiday go ask GP. I am annoyed now! Mom seen GP today made no increase to vitamin D which is still low at 25. So waste of appointment. I can't go to every appointment to help parents as I have to work or lose wages.

I have my results via system one online...not worried about dealing with my GP i have results to challenge it.

I'm just having a rant really about the hospital brick walling me consultant dragged out things for years GP does the same.

Only trying to help mother get her TSH down Ft4 higher but endo at hos don't want to listen about getting vits good level to help the levo do it's job. Which is what i understand from reading chatting here.

I will keep trying pushing for results.

Well, print out the guidelines from the NICE website for vitamin D deficiency and send your mother to the GP with the printed out guidelines and she can tell the GP she wants to be treated according to the guidelines which will be very similar to local area guidelines. If necessary write a letter to the GP that she can take with her requesting appropriate treatment and include the guidelines. Tell your mother the guidelines are produced by the NHS for GP's to follow and for patients to know what the correct treatment is.
