Dx case hypo 1 yr. Started multivitamin 5 days back. Burning and tingling whole body. Can it be due to multivitamin. IBS for many years. Severe weakness, fatigue, dizziness. TPO ANTIBODY more than 1300. Needs valuable opinion.

Do you have recent lab results? The ones you posted from a year ago are really poor and it is possible that you are still under medicated.

#bluebug these results are recent. Now taking levothyroxine 50 for 1 month.

Riyad55,

Stop taking the multivitamin and see whether symptoms improve.

Multivitamins are a waste of money. You need to have ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate tested to see whether there are low levels or deficiencies. A multivit won't provide sufficient to correct deficiencies.

Please see my last post to see recent values. Thank you.

Riyad55,

I commented on your thyroid, vitamin and mineral results. I thought your vit and mineral results were fine.

I would say so, yes. There are so many reasons not to take multivits, you have just discovered one of them : i.e. if one of the vits it contains disagrees with you, you won't know which one it is.

If, as Clutter says - I don't know, I haven't looked at your results - your nutrients are fine, you're wasting your money with a multivit, anyway. By taking it, all you are doing is making the manufacturer rich! :(

Your antibodies are very high this is Hashimoto's, (also known as autoimmune thyroid disease). About 90% of hypothyroidism in UK is due to Hashimoto's.

Hashimoto's affects the gut, very often leading to low vitamin levels..

As you have Hashimoto's then hidden food intolerances may be causing issues, most common by far is gluten. Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms and eventually start to lower antibodies. Very very many of us here find it really helps and is essential to be gluten free

I would never have got better without help from this fantastic support group

Medics seem to have no idea about how Hashimoto's affects everything including digestive system
