Thiroyd and lack of sleep

Hi. I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago, about my transition to NDT. I'm taking two grains of Thiroyd a day. Everything is going well. However, one slight snag.....I'm struggling with sleep. Sometimes only 3 or 4 hours a night. Despite this, I never feel really tired. I read up that this could be due with stressed adrenal glands. Does anyone else have a similar issue, and a possible solution? I wouldn't mind a decent night's sleep!

Have you checked your vitamin levels? You need sufficient vitamin levels for your body to function well. Melatonin and serotonin require enough nutrients for your body to produce it efficiently.

Yep same issue. Haven't slept well for over a month.

Unfortunately im one of those that meeds a good nights sleep to function fully and taking a nap in the afternoon has never working d for me.

No solution. Was thinking of popping a sleeping tablet or two to try and reset my sleep pattern.

Hi print1972

Yes I don't seem able to sleep either, it doesn't matter what time I go to bed early or late I still lay there unable to sleep, I can't sleep in the day even though I'm tired and yawning all day, I'm getting my cortisol checked for the adrenals but I think they say it's not that accurate, although I could be wrong there, I've been like it for months now.. not sure of a solution 😏

Hi

I posted the same question (twice) earlier this week. I had some amazing replies full of detail about different options. Have a look at those.

I have the same problem and can't raise either levo or ndt because the insomnia gets so bad. I've had nights of zero sleep and like you, don't feel really tired.

Last night I had a magnesium drink, zinc tablet just after dinner, cracker and cheese before bed to stop any blood sugar issues arising in the night and also 3mg melatonin. For the first time in ages I actually fell asleep then woke up at 3am but so happy that I had some sleep and even happier that I had felt tired! I also took my low dose ndt before midday. Anyway will see if it works again tonight. Mine is a cortisol issue for sure so i need to improve adrenal support.

Good luck... not sleeping is the absolute pits.
