I was increased from 175 mcg to 200 mcg about 3 months ago. I have never experienced a rash like this that's excruciatingly painful. Mostly from the knees down. I'm lost 😥 Researching daily and would love to hear if anyone has experienced horrible rash with high dose.

You need to see your GP.

Zumbabrat,

Check out images for pretibial myxoedema. It's something that Hashimoto's and Graves patients can experience. It won't have been caused by the dose increase.

Try taking an antihistamine tablet 1 hour before your next dose to see if it would ease the itching. If it does, even a little, you may have a sensitivity to something in the fillers/binders. So ask to be given another make of levothyroxine.

Have you changed your brand of medication?

I experienced excema craquele on my shins, due to lack of hormones, & my friend had this more severely with Graves. Thyro-Gold made me itch all over.

Hope you feel better soon!
