I accidentally took my dose twice! I'm on 100 mcg Levothyroxine and took the pill an hour ago and then mindlessly took one more instead of my Metformin! Is this ok for just the once? I called my GP who said it wasn't dangerous for the one time. Anyone else ever do this and do you have anything to report when you did it? This is so unlike me and I feel ridiculous!

Yes, don't worry. Just miss tomorrow's dose. I have read that some take one week's dose of levo once weekly.
If you don't have a weekly pill-box, I'd get one as it is very easy to do as you've done, take another dose or cannot remember if you took a dose or not.
Thank you for your quick reply. I feel perfectly ok so I shall do exactly as you say -- forego tomorrow's dose.
The only thing about a pill box I'm wondering is that Levothyroxine is susceptible to heat and moisture so could taking them out of pack cause deterioration?
Each tablet blister can be cut and put individually into the organiser so retaining the quality.
I just cut the foil and keep pill(s) in it then put in box . However, in the UK we don't usually have days which are too hot/humid and if we keep it in the usual cupboard/drawer they should not come to harm. This is from a past post:-
The documentation for one of the UK makes of levothyroxine expressly says:
6.4 Special precautions for storage
Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original package and protect from light and moisture.

If you, or anyone else, thinks to store it in the refrigerator, take care. The problem is that when you take it out, condensation can very quickly occur. Levothyroxine needs to be kept in the dark, in the not too warm, and in the dry - but even the desiccants sometimes used in bottles of tablets can make it too dry!

Thanks.
